Search committees are progressing well in their work to bring the College a new provost and School of Business dean. Plans are to have each position filled by the end of the semester, so that finalists will have the opportunity to meet with faculty, staff, and students. The first candidates for dean were on campus last week, while candidates for provost are expected to be on campus in April. Longtime administrator William A. Scoones was appointed to a two-year term as acting dean of the School of Business in the summer of 1996. He replaced former dean David Long, who left for a post at the Bloomsburg University College of Business. That same year, Mary Lee Seibert was named acting provost with the resignation of Thomas C. Longin. Seibert had been working as associate provost and dean of graduate studies prior to Longin's decision to leave the College.
