The paper and the Web pages used in the presentation are posted at www.ithaca.edu/darrow/NERM/. The paper was 1 of 19 concerning the use of technology and the World Wide Web in chemical education presented during the meeting.

Robert Heasley, sociology, in response to a growing interest in the relationship between violence and problems boys encounter in their lives, has spoken to a number of local teacher groups and parent/teacher organizations on the issue of raising boys. In addition, he and Katharine Kittredge, English, gave a presentation for some 150 teachers in the Trumansburg School District on gender issues and education. A collaboration between two disciplines, the presentation included a slide show by Kittredge that focused on how clothing — along with attitudes and perceptions of gender — has changed since the 1800s and how those developments impact current efforts to bring about a change in gender expectations. Heasley has also been invited to write an article entitled "Sexuality and Gender: Shifting Paradigms for the 21st Century" for a monograph being published by the Council on Standards in Human Service Education. The title of the monograph is Human Service Delivery in the 21st Century.

Ilona Pierce and Susannah Berryman, theater arts, performed in Collected Stories, a two-woman play by Donald Margulies, at Ithaca’s Kitchen Theatre Company in May. Pierce was also in the Kitchen Theatre’s production of The Kathy and Mo Show in June.
