Safety Fair to Introduce "Fatal Vision" Goggles

Christy Bianconi ’01 tries to walk a straight line while wearing "fatal vision" goggles. The eyewear, which simulates the disorienting effects of alcohol consumption, will be demonstrated at the College’s safety fair on Thursday, August 26. Members of the campus community are invited to attend the fair, which is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. in the Egbert Hall lobby. Local law enforcement, fire, and safety agencies will have displays and information on topics including drinking and driving, home safety, and crime prevention. The "fatal vision" goggles were recently purchased through the combined resources of the Office of Campus Safety and the Tompkins County Stop DWI program; they will be used in drunk driving prevention efforts.
