Stroke Rehabilitation Program to Hold Open HouseThe Center for Life Skills a program developed by Ithaca College to help individuals who have experienced a stroke or other neurological disorders will hold an open house on Friday, December 8, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Developed through the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance, the Center for Life Skills is intended for individuals who have been discharged from a formal rehabilitative program but need continued therapy to improve the quality of their everyday life. It features a highly individualized goal-setting program provided by Ithaca College faculty and students from a variety of allied health disciplines, including occupational therapy, physical therapy, therapeutic recreation, and speech-language pathology and audiology. The center is now accepting applications for its spring session, consisting of two and a half days of therapy per week beginning January 29 and running through May 4. There is a fee for the service. All sessions are held at Longview. For more information, call program manager Catherine Gooch at 375-6312. |
