Intercom Is Here
Staff and faculty members are encouraged to log in and contribute stories, post comments on other stories, and submit letters for publication. While Intercom will be updated continually, a digest of the latest stories will be distributed weekly by e-mail. This will help cut down on the number of separate e-mails that have in the past been distributed campuswide. Supervisors are requested to print out and post copies of the digest for employees who do not have ready access to e-mail. "You can rely on Intercom to bring you news from around campus --- important announcements, information about major events, reports of special achievements --- in an up-to-the-minute and interactive way that can't be achieved in print," says Tom Torello, executive director of marketing communications. "But in order to make that happen, Intercom is relying on the members of this community to be information providers." "Using Intercom is pretty straightforward," says managing editor Andrejs Ozolins, electronic publication specialist in the Office of Marketing Communications. "But, if you cannot find the answer to your question in the 'Help' section, send an e-mail to intercom@ithaca.edu."
