Submitted on behalf of Dr. David Newman, Director of Health Services & Mark Coldren, AVP for Human Resources

The Health Center has recently held a number of seasonal influenza immunization clinics for faculty, staff, and students.  We have been pleased with the enthusiastic turnout for these clinics, which demonstrates a real commitment to maintaining a healthy living and learning community. In just two weeks the Health Center has given nearly as many flu shots as we administered during all of last year.

While this is good news for the College community, the result is that the Health Center will exhaust its initial supply of vaccine by week’s end. As a result, we need to postpone additional faculty and staff clinics.

We view this as a temporary delay due to the industry’s shift to producing and shipping H1N1 vaccine, and we anticipate continuing with seasonal vaccine clinics as soon as supplies become available. Please watch for updates on the HR website, and contact the Health Center at 274-3177 if you have questions.

Thank you.

Thank you to Ithaca College for providing this free service! And thank you to the Health Center staff for taking the time to administer the vaccinations across campus. You are appreciated!
