President Tom Rochon is seeking a recent IC graduate, including a member of the class of 2013, to serve as assistant to the president. Among the principal duties will be to route questions that come into the president’s office to the appropriate area or division, to assemble information necessary to respond to questions and complaints, and to draft routine communications from the president’s office in response to messages received.

In addition, the incumbent will be asked to assist with the work of the office in organizing events and in other ongoing activities.

The position can be available as early as June 1, 2013, or as late as September 1, 2013. By its nature, this kind of position can offer an excellent beginning to a career, particularly for someone who might be interested in a future in higher education.

Strong writing skills are essential. For a complete description and to apply, visit  http://apply.icjobs.org/postings/22216 and attach a letter of interest in which you state how this position would fit into your long term career goals, a resume, one piece of writing you have done for a class at Ithaca College (any topic, any length), and a list of three references. Questions about online application may be directed to the Office of Human Resources at (607) 274-8000.
