ITS continues to work on improving the wireless network. Starting this week, Apogee consultants will be on campus doing a comprehensive wireless network site survey. This survey will provide us with the information we need to improve wireless performance to meet current and future needs.

We are doing a physical site survey requiring the consultants to go room to room, building by building, analyzing current access point (AP) placement, room design, set-up and capacity, building materials and other components that affect wireless performance. Once the survey is complete, we will know how many access points are needed, where the additional gear should be placed and in what density.

The consultants will be surveying the academic and administrative buildings during normal business hours; please provide them access as needed. They will not be going through the residential halls but may need access to classrooms during class. 

ITS is also reaching out to all academic deans to identify current wireless problem areas. We are working to fix existing problems as soon as possible. Please report problems to the ITS Helpdesk.
