2012 Horn Day
Welcome to the 2012 Ithaca College Horn Day! We look forward to providing an outstanding event for high school horn players.

Location: Ithaca College School of Music
Ages: Participants must be in grades 9, 10, 11, or 12. Please contact us if you are seeking special permission for younger participants.

Tentative Schedule

| 8:30-8:50 a.m. | Registration | Athletic and Event Center Glazer Arena | Participants will check in and receive a final schedule for the day. |
| 9:00-9:50 a.m. | Introductions and Horn Warmups | Hockett Green Room | Participants will meet each other and our faculty guest artist, followed by a horn warmups class. |
| 10:00-10:50 a.m. | Horn Masterclass | Hockett Green Room | IC Faculty will present an interactive class that includes topics such as practice techniques, developing horn range, and effective listening skills. |
| 11:00 a.m.-11:50 p.m. | Music admissions session | Hockett Family Recital Hall | Participants will attend a session about how to apply to college for music, as well as specific admissions information for the Ithaca College School of Music. |
| 12:00-12:50 p.m. | Lunch | Athletic and Event Center Glazer Arena | Provided by Ithaca College. |
| 1:00-1:50 p.m. | Horn Reading Session | Whalen Center 1207 | Participants will sightread and rehearse horn chamber music. |
| 2:00-2:50 p.m. | Ensemble Participation | Presser and IRR rehearsal rooms | Participants will have the opportunity to sit in, observe, and possible perform with two premier IC ensembles, the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. |
| 3:00-4:00 p.m. | Campus Tour | Ithaca College Campus | Campus tour guides will provide a full-campus tour for participants. |
| 4:15-5:15 p.m. | Horn Choir Concert | Instrumental Rehearsal Room | IC faculty and students will give a brief concert. Participants may join if interested. |
| 5:15 p.m. | Reception | Hockett Green Room | A final reception with snacks will be provided at the conclusion of the concert. |
