A Message from the MTD Admission Team

At Ithaca College, we value all voices and encourage you to bring your authentic self to your audition or interview. Throughout the application process, our Faculty and Admission Team will always seek potential over perfection and look forward to discovering the unique perspectives and backgrounds you could bring to the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance community.

Our team strives to foster equitable and inclusive practices in our application process, while identifying areas where additional attention is needed to affect change. As a School dedicated to elevating the presence of underrepresented artists, we encourage IC applicants to consider including audition repertoire selections composed by a diverse array of identities. With such a wide selection of repertoire, we invite applicants to include selections by individuals identifying as LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and/or women.

Application Process

Step 1: Apply to Ithaca College via the Common App.

Step 2: Apply to the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance by uploading audition or interview materials to Acceptd.

Step 3: Apply for financial aid.

NOTE: Both the Common App and Acceptd application (with pre-screen materials if required) must be received in order for your materials to be evaluated.

After You Submit Your Application

Schedule Your Audition or Interview: If the program you applied to requires pre-screen materials, the Center will review those materials and invite successful applicants to schedule an audition or interview. If the program you applied to does not require pre-screen materials, you will receive a confirmation of your indicated audition or interview date via email. We typically let applicants know if they are invited to audition or interview on a rolling basis starting in October.

Wait for Your Decision: The hardest part! Offers of admission typically go out on a rolling basis starting March 1. We appreciate your patience!

Visit: The best way to know if Ithaca College is the place for you! Accepted students may observe class and connect with current students and faculty to help you make your decision. Find out about the ways you can engage with us here!
