Ithaca
College Trombone Troupe announces the seventh biennial Allen E. Ostrander Trombone
Composition Prize. Since 1989 the Trombone Troupe has commissioned works by such
prominent composers as Dana Wilson, Steve Brown, Paul Goldstaub, Frank Siekmann,
and Sydney Hodkinson to add significant works to the trombone ensemble repertoire.

the highest quality trombone ensemble repertoire in honor and memory of one of
the most prolific and prominent contributors to the literature and pedagogy of
the trombone. Guidelines:

two years of the contest deadline. -
The

by professional, college, and university ensembles. -

Cash
prize of $1,000, with a performance in the Spring of 2007. The composer will be

made prior arrangements with another publisher. -

is found to be suitable.
