Corey Seapy is a graduate assistant in instrumental conducting at the Ithaca College School of Music, where he studies with Stephen Peterson and Jeffery Meyer. Prior to arriving in Ithaca, he served as Director of Bands at Georgetown Middle/High School in northeastern Massachusetts, where he led four concert bands, two jazz bands, marching band, musicals, and taught music electives. He also conducted the Northeast Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble and was Assistant Conductor of the Gordon College Wind Ensemble. He is a graduate of Gordon College, where he earned a B.M. in Music Education in 2008.
Corey is a clarinet and saxophone player and has performed in a wide variety of classical and jazz settings. He taught clarinet for two summers at Camp Encore/Coda in Sweden, Maine, and taught woodwinds privately for six years in the Boston area. Since turning his attention to conducting, he has participated in masterclasses with Glen Adsit, Frank Battisti, Michael Haithcock, Jerry Junkin, Craig Kirchoff, Anthony Maiello, Alan McMurray, Stephen Peterson, and Mallory Thompson. Corey is a member of the College Band Directors National Association and the National Association for Music Education.
