THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 20
MUSIC

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21
CELEBRATION
“Newest Articulations: Anticipating Zillah,” a celebratory event recognizing the contributions of retiring professor of politics Zillah Eisenstein; 3 p.m., Klingenstein Lounge, Egbert Hall.

MUSIC
“Music of Debussy and Messiaen, Part II,” featuringPreludes Book II” and “Estampes,” performed by the students of Charis Dimaras; 7 p.m., Hockett Family Recital Hall, Whalen Center.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22
MUSIC
Faculty recital featuring bass player Marc Webster, with pianist Charis Dimaras and cellist Elizabeth Simkin, playing music by Mozart, Brahms, Sauguet and Foster; 7 p.m., Hockett Family Recital Hall, Whalen Center.

“A Grand Beginning,” a performance by the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Lanfranco Marcelletti with pianist Hector Sanchez, playing music by Rossini, Beethoven, Gottschalk and Mozart; 8 p.m., Ford Hall, Whalen Center. (Tickets required; for more information call 607-273-4497).

MUSIC
“The Saxophone: East Meets West,” a faculty recital featuring Steven Mauk, with pianist Diane Birr, playing music by Husa, Ibert, Williams and various Chinese composers; 4 p.m., Hockett Family Recital Hall, Whalen Center.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 24
MUSIC
Guest recital by the Stiletto Brass, with trumpet players Amy Gilreath and Cathy Leach, horn player Kelly Langenberg, trombonist Jeannie Little, and tuba player Velvet Brown; 7 p.m., Hockett Family Recital Hall, Whalen Center.

CONTINUING EXHIBITS
“re(Collection): memory and narrative in recent work,” an exhibition by painter and printer Patricia Bellan-Gillen; through October 14, Handwerker Gallery. The gallery is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m.–9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, noon–5 p.m.
