‘Last Comic Standing’ Finalist Ron G Will Open for Seth Meyers at Ithaca College
ITHACA, NY — One of the hottest up-and-coming comics will serve as the opening act for the Seth Meyers performance at Ithaca College on Saturday, April 12. Ron G was a finalist in the sixth season of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and was named College Comic of the Year by the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities.
Tickets are still available for the 8 p.m. show in the Athletics & Events Center by Meyers, a former “Saturday Night Live” performer and head writer and the new host of NBC’s “Late Night.” Tickets can be purchased at iceventstickets.com.
Describing his comedy as “high energy and clever with an urban flare,” Ron G graduated with a dual degree in finance and management from the University of South Carolina but quickly decided he didn’t fit into the corporate world. At his cousin’s urging he got up on stage for the first time at a club in Atlanta, and though he got booed severely, he calls that “the best and worst day of my life — the day I fell in love with comedy.”
He has appeared in the films “Margarine Wars” and “Truly Blessed,” and on shows for the VH1 and BET television networks. He currently has a one-year talent holding deal with NBCUniversal.
Ticket prices for the general public are $30 for regular seating and $40 for premium seating. The price for Ithaca College students is $15 for regular seating. All seats are reserved, and a large screen will be set up to ensure that all audience members have a view of the stage.
There is a $2 service charge per ticket, and each buyer can purchase up to six tickets. Premium parking passes are also available for purchase.
