Provide a broad range of support services to prospective and eligible New York State residents who, because of academic and economic circumstances, would otherwise be unable to attend Ithaca College
The Ithaca College Higher Education Opportunity Program provides a 4 week prefreshman summer institute; mandatory for incoming HEOP participants
Counseling, advising, tutoring, and exposure to career development or pre-professional development opportunities are available to all HEOP participants
In addition to academic support, program participants receive financial assistance toward their college tuition and educational-related expenses
Support services continue until graduation
CSTEP and C-STEM EMPOWERS!
- Provide a broad range of support services to current historically underrepresented groups who are pursuing professional licensure and careers in mathematics, science, engineering, technology, and health-related STEM fields
- Provide access to counseling, advising, tutoring, and exposure to career development or pre-professional development opportunities to current CSTEP and C-STEM participants
- CSTEP and C-STEM provides professional development opportunities and many types of support services to participants, allowing for greater academic success at Ithaca College
The Office of State Grants (OSG) is under the Educational Affairs division, reporting to the Office of the Provost. OSG regularly partners with academic support services under the Center for Academic Advancement (CAA). Under CAA, the Academic Advising Center (AAC), Student Accessibility Services (SAS), and Tutoring Services are units which collaboratively work together with OSG, in order to provide resources which supports the academic needs of Ithaca College students.
HEOP is an opportunity program which provides access to higher education. CSTEP and C-STEM are opportunity programs which provide access to STEM fields/careers. HEOP, CSTEP and C-STEM are NOT diversity programs.
