A team of four Park School students received third place in the Marketing EDGE Collegiate ECHO Marketing Challenge. More than 150 teams competed in the nationwide competition. Sarah Parker ‘14, Kait Sessler ‘14, Olivia Consol ‘14, and Massiel Miliano ’13 will split $500 cash and the Department of Strategic Communication received $1000. The team was advised by Professor Adam Peruta.
Conducted since 1986, the Marketing EDGE Collegiate ECHO Challenge provides college students with real-world experience by challenging them to create a marketing campaign for a leading marketer of products or services. The 2013 competition was conducted during the fall 2012 and spring 2013 semesters, and included entries at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Ithaca's entry was entered as part of coursework for Adam Peruta's Advertising, Copywriting and Art Direction course.
The featured client for the challenge was dELiA*s, a multichannel retail company targeting teenage girls and young women. The team of students worked together to create an integrated marketing campaign working with a theoretical budget and using all direct and interactive marketing channels to expand dELiA*s brand presence and awareness.
