IMC Majors Phillips ’13 and Mendell ’13 Appointed to Initiative Future Board
IMC majors Marc Phillips ’13 and MollyRose Mendell ’13 were awarded seats on the Initiative Future Board, a creative think tank established to support rising stars in the advertising industry. Initiative, a global creative agency, appoints American Advertising Federation college chapter members and gives them the opportunity to work with advertising professionals at its different offices across the country. Students work on a client project each semester, receive mentoring, and shadow employees. U.S. Future Board members also may interact with other members serving on Future Boards in Europe and Latin America. This appointment is for one academic year.
Both students were selected by Initiative and AAF's program leaders. Applicants submitted video resumes that described a creative achievement, explained what contribution they could make to the Initiative Future Board, and identified a creative and effective media campaign. Students from all over the country applied to be on the Future Board, but only 13 students were chosen.
Marc also will be working on a semester-long project for Arby's with a few other teammates. Marc said, “I am honored to be the newest member of AAF's Future Board and cannot wait to get started on my advertising task with Initiative's client, Arby's. To have the ability to work with advertising executives and receive mentoring while an undergraduate is a unique experience. I am very fortunate and express my thanks to the program leaders who selected me to participate.”
MollyRose said, "I am so excited to be a part of the Initiative Future Board, and to dive head-first into the world of advertising."
