Thinking about getting into tv, news, media, or fashion? Then come to this event where you network with professionals in the field and find out how they got there!

The first 28 registrants will be able to schedule mock interviews with professional recruiters from the Society for Human Resource Management. Conference attendees will also choose three to four workshops to attend on various entertainment industries and learn how professionals in the field broke into sought after entertainment careers. Workshop topics include:  Television, Media and Events, Fashion, Professional Etiquette, and BrandYourself.com. To top the evening off, Jessica Styles, Founder and President of The FAB Network will give a keynote address focusing on careers in the television, fashion and beauty industries.

This event is free and will take place on Thursday, February 18 at the SUNY Oswego Metro Center in Syracuse, NY. Opening remarks will begin at 4:00 p.m. and the event will conclude with a networking reception at 7:30 p.m. Register by February 11: http://www.oswego.edu/student/career/image2010/index.html.

If you want to make a living while making a difference in the world, come to the Careers in Government and Nonprofit Organizations panel.  Hear from representatives of the Peace Corps, City Year, FBI, Hospicare and IRS as they talk about their experiences and how to get involved in public service opportunities.

The panel will be held on Thursday, March 4 at 7:00pm in the Taughannock Falls Meeting Room.

Career Services is pleased to announce that representatives from PriceWaterhouseCoopers will be visiting campus on March 1, 2010 to conduct interviews for two summer internship opportunities.

•  Leadership Adventure Program
•  Internal Firm Services - Summer of Discovery Internship

The opportunities are targeted to Juniors with an undergrad graduation date of 2011 and the application deadline is February 19, 2010.  Complete position descriptions and application information can be found on eRecruiting.

Interested applicants are encouraged to visit Career Services for assistance in preparing their application materials.

Career Services is pleased to announce our Spring 2010 resume books.  If you are looking for a job or internship, being in our resume books is a great way to potentially get your resume in front of several thousand employers!

Interested?

Here's what you do:

  • Come by Career Services.  We can help you start your resume or critique a resume that you've already started.
  • Upload your resume to eRecruiting and place it in either 2010 Senior/Grad Student Resume Book or the 2010 Internship Resume Book.  That's it.

Career Services will be giving all of our employers the opportunity to access our resume books and those who attend the spring Job & Internship Fair on March 3, will be sent our resume books in advance of the event!

The deadline to be included in the mailing for the Job & Internship Fair is February 23, 2010.
