Coronavirus Updates

The Ithaca College Office of Public Safety would like to provide the following information regarding procedural adjustments based on the COVID-19 pandemic.

In accordance with protocols and recommendations currently in place by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), as well as State and local health departments, Public Safety will be making the following modifications to limit exposure and the spread of COVID-19 within our community:

  • When calling Public Safety, please ensure that you provide a call-back number, if possible.  Our officers will likely contact you before arrival to assess the need for an in-person response.  Minor reports will likely be completed via the telephone, without personal interaction.
  • For reports that need to be handled in person, please be prepared to meet the officer outside or in an open-air space or environment.  Public Safety will make every effort to abide by the CDC recommendations of social distancing to curb the spread of the virus.
  • Additionally, if you are not feeling well and would like to be assessed by medical staff, please contact the Hammond Health Center at 607-274-3177 or your primary care provider for advice.  If you contact Public Safety, we will request that an ambulance be sent to you.
  • Public Safety will continue to respond appropriately to any emergency calls for service.

Public Safety would like to thank the IC community for your cooperation and understanding during this ever-changing and challenging time.
