Fall Welcome Events

Fall Welcome helps students become acquainted with their new college environment and provides greater opportunity for academic, social, and individual growth prior to the start of classes.

Fall Welcome includes a welcome picnic, all-college convocation ceremony, the First-Year Reading Initiative discussion, social activities, a meeting held by the academic deans, and many interesting workshops and presentations offered by offices and organizations on campus.

Fall Welcome begins on Sunday, August 24 and goes through Tuesday, August 26.

Sunday, August 24

First-year students check into residence halls area and satellite offices

3:00–5:00 p.m.
Training for all students working in Dining Services (various locations)

5:00–8:00 p.m.
BBQ Dinner (Campus Center Quad)
Join us for E Komo Mai, a free welcome luau open to all first-year students at Ithaca College. E Komo Mai is an annual tradition co-sponsored and planned by IC After Dark, a student-run organization. Each year, first-year students are welcomed with a relaxing BBQ for students to reconnect with those you have met at orientation and meet new ones. Enjoy delicious food, cool prizes and lots fun -- everything you would expect at any IC After Dark event. (Rain Location: Emerson Suites)
