In honor of the campus celebration on MLK Day, Monday, January 21st - we will be offering a Polar Plunge style service opportunity for all who register in advance for MLK Day. The Voter Registration and Election Committee has developed a website to give the Ithaca College community easy access to information about voter registration. The site includes information about voter registration across the country, important election and registration dates, as well as nonpartisan sites to visit for information on the candidates.

Ithaca College will celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on January 21, 2008, with its first ever "Day On, Not a Day Off." As this year's holiday falls on the usual first day of classes, President Peggy R. Williams has declared this to be a day of reflection, learning, and celebration. Students will not have classes and the campus community will participate in a variety of activities throughout the day.

Alan Page—a member of the Minnesota Vikings fearsome defensive unit of the 1970s who went on to become Minnesota’s first African-American Supreme Court justice—has been selected to deliver the main address at Ithaca College’s 113th Commencement ceremony on May 18, 2008. A member of the college and professional football halls of fame, he established the Page Education Foundation to motivate and assist young men and women of color in pursuing their educational goals.
