Medication Room Hours
During the academic year: Monday-Friday 8am-7pm. Saturday 10am-6pm. Sundays-Closed.
Summer Hours are Monday thru Friday 8am to 4pm - 5/20/13 thru 8/21/13.
The Hammond Health Center Medication Room is not a pharmacy and therefore cannot participate with prescription plans.
We have a dispensary from which we can provide students with frequently prescribed medications for their acute medical issues. Other medications, including those prescribed by a student’s home health care provider, can be filled by a local pharmacy.
Also available is Over the Counter Medications (OTCs). Some of the items available include acetaminophen (Tylenol), ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), throat lozenges, cough syrup, vitamin C, eye drops, antibiotic ointment, condoms (6 for $1!), pregnancy tests, hot/cold packs and thermometers. We also sell various OTC medications for treatment of diarrhea, constipation, heartburn, allergic reactions, warts, athlete's foot, and vaginal yeast infections. Not sure what you need? Just ask us! OTC meds can be purchased anytime that the Health Center is open.
If you have insurance with a prescription plan, or if you need a medication not carried in the Medication Room, or if you have a prescription written by an private healthcare provider, arrangements have been made with Wegman’s Pharmacy for delivery service to the Health Center. To participate, you must complete a “New Student Form” and if you have prescription plan, you must provide a copy of your insurance card. The Health Center will forward prescriptions to Wegman’s Pharmacy and will receive deliveries twice daily, Monday-Friday.
Once information is on file at Wegman’s Pharmacy, future medications can be ordered and delivered to the Health Center. When refills (if available) are needed, it is the student’s responsibility to call Wegman’s Pharmacy to request medication refills. If the student lists an Ithaca College address on the Wegman’s “New Student Form” the prescription will automatically be delivered to the Hammond Health Center at Ithaca College.
If Wegmans prescriptions are picked up at the Hammond Health Center, students can place any balances or co-payments due on their student financial services accounts OR can use cash, check, credit card, or ID Express. If prescriptions are picked up in person at Wegmans, however, the student’s college account cannot be used. Payment must be made directly to Wegman’s Pharmacy at the time of personal pick-up.
Delivery is for prescription medications only. Wegman’s is unable to deliver over-the-counter medications or grocery items
Wegmans Pharmacy is located at 500 South Meadow Street, Ithaca, NY 14850, phone (607) 277-1772 and fax (607) 277-5890.
