Found Property

There are four kinds of found property that may be turned in to the Office of Residential Life:

  1. Owner is identifiable as an Ithaca College student or staff member.
  2. Owner is identifiable, but is not an Ithaca College student or staff member.
  3. Owner is not identifiable and the property is of consequential value (e.g., money, records or receipts, would cost more than a few dollars to replace).
  4. Owner is not identifiable and the property is of inconsequential value.

If the found property can be identified as belonging to a student or staff member, E-mail the owner (cc: RD on Duty) that their lost property:

  • is at the Office of Residential Life.
  • will be sent to the Office of Public Safety at 3:00 p.m. of the next business day if not retrieved.

If the property is of consequential value and does not belong to a student of staff member, contact the Office of Public Safety and ask them to pick up the found property when time allows.

If the property is of inconsequential value, dispose of it by the end of the business day.
