Iyengar Yoga

 

Although not an introductory class, this class is suitable for absolute beginners without injuries or obstacles to learning alongside those who might have some experience.  It is a class which is taught from the Iyengar principles of Yoga, meaning that precise alignment and understanding of the poses is taught in a way which tailors them to the flexibility and capability of the participants.  Although challenging at times, and soothing at others, Iyengar Yoga offers a deep understanding of the body and mind through consistent practice and learning.  Props such as blocks, blankets and straps are used to create ease and safety.  It is a class which should be attended like an academic class, meaning that it is progressive and builds from day one on these principles which may be practiced outside the classroom.  The art of breathing and meditation will be touched upon in this class
