Hip Hop

One of the many Recreational Sport Clubs at Ithaca College that specialize in teaching and performing a specific style of dance, the Ithaca College Hip Hop Dance club provides the opportunity for members of the Ithaca College community to express themselves through the medium of hip hop. As a club based largely around public performance, ICHHD is very visible on campus throughout the year.

As such, the Ithaca College Hip Hop Dance club holds auditions at the beginning of each semester in order to determine who will qualify for the team for that portion of the year. Prospective members must not only possess the will and desire to make the commitment of time and effort to the club but must also memorize the necessary choreography and aid in the fundraising activities of the club throughout the year. While no dance experience is necessary, a willingness to perform in public is expected.

All tryout sessions are attended by the entire executive board, and all members participate in the selection process. The final roster decisions are made by the club President and Vice President in terms of the competitive club. The Ithaca College Hip Hop Dance club is open to both men and women.
