FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)
FERPA (The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) is designed to protect the privacy of education
records, to establish the right of students to inspect and review their education records, and to
provide guidelines for the correction of inaccurate and misleading data.
FERPA applies to all educational institutions (schools or other entities that provide educational
services and are attended by students) and educational agencies (entities that administer schools
directly linked to them) that receive funds under any program administered by the United States
Department of Education.
