Live info sessions are offered throughout each semester. Session times and dates are posted in late August for Fall semesters, and late January for Spring semesters. If there are no live sessions available that match your interests, browse our recorded info sessions, posted on this page, to get an early start in the study abroad planning process.

Study Abroad 101: The Basics

START HERE TO UNDERSTAND YOUR OPTIONS FOR STUDY ABROAD

This session provides an overview of all of the study abroad possibilities available to you as an IC student. It is perfect for those who are just at the beginning stages of study abroad planning. We'll discuss how to best plan for study abroad, explain key terminology and types of programs available, talk about what to consider when choosing a program, and how to plan for the financial side of your study abroad experience.

LEARN HOW TO GET ACCEPTED TO YOUR FIRST CHOICE PROGRAM

This session will review the application process and deadlines for studying abroad. We will touch on all program types, including the London Center, exchange, affiliated, and non-affiliated programs. A can't-miss overview for those planning to go abroad in Summer 2026, Fall 2026, Winter 2027, or Spring 2027!

Study Abroad 102: Financial & Academic Planning for Study Abroad

FINANCES & SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDY ABROAD
Study abroad is possible for everyone, but it takes careful planning to find the program that's financially best for you. This session discusses how you can best plan for study abroad from a financial perspective. We review costs, financial aid, budgeting, exchange rates, and additional scholarships.

ACADEMIC PLANNING FOR STUDY ABROAD 
This session focuses on how to plan for study abroad from an academic perspective. We'll discuss how to determine the best semester for your study abroad experience, how to decide which degree requirements to satisfy abroad, and how to choose a program based on your academic needs and interests.

Top 10 Programs! New Destinations! Off the Beaten Path Opportunities!

Once you have learned about study abroad basics in Study Abroad 101, and delved into financial and academic planning in Study Abroad 102, the Study Abroad 201 sessions are your next step in learning more about your options. These sessions are short, 30-minute presentations focusing on specific types of study abroad experiences. Attend one or attend them all!

Summer Study Abroad

EXPLORE THE WIDE RANGE OF INTERNATIONAL SUMMER OPTIONS

Interested in studying abroad, but not sure you can get away for a full semester? Come explore the wide range of options for summer study abroad, through IC's own London program, our exchange and affiliated partners, and other quality non-affiliated programs. Summer programs range in length from just a couple of weeks to a full summer, and offer options for coursework and internships. There's a program out there that matches your interests and needs, and we'll help you find it!

Many of our affiliated partners occasionally offer either live or pre-recorded information sessions about their programs. Keep in mind that not all programs offered by each affiliated organization are affiliated with IC. You can email studyabroad@ithaca.edu to confirm the status of any program that interests you.

Study in Ireland: International Learning Academy (ILA) Dublin

ILA Dublin is one of IC's newest affiliated partners. Offering courses at their own center, as well as at the International School of Business and at Dublin City University, students can take courses across a wide range of subject areas. Dublin is known for its multiple public parks, picturesque countryside, and famous pubs. It is described as a small city with a large village vibe. Dublin also consistently ranks in the world’s top five friendliest cities.

Study in France and Spain with IAU Study Abroad

The IAU Study Abroad is one of IC's longest-standing study abroad partners. Offering affiliated programs in Aix-en-Provence, France, and in Barcelona & Madrid, Spain, IAU offers a wide range of coursework in both English and the host country languages.

Study in New Zealand: University of Auckland

The University of Auckland is located in the North Island of New Zealand. It is a prestigious research university that has courses in more than 150 academic disciplines, making it an ideal study abroad destination for students of all majors.
