Entrepreneurship:
Photo Business – We have started a photo business in the form of a fundraiser. We go to major events on campus and take pictures of families that we then will develop and mail to them with in a month for a small fee
Success Skills, Ethics, Market Economics:
YMCA- For Ethics project we had children select a card with an ethical question on it and receive guidance on how they should handle a situation similar to this if they ever encountered one. We satisfied our Success skill project with an interactive game of jeopardy asking children simple questions about hygiene, study skills, health and nutrition. For market economics we created a color poster that warned children of deceiving packages and advertisements on some of their favorite foods and to choose healthy conscious choices when purchasing foods and reading the labels.
Financial Literacy:
Women’s Opportunity Center-members prepared a power point presentation about finances that they then took to the women’s shelter in the city of Ithaca. They presented this to the women there who are in financial troubles and benefit by becoming more knowledgeable.
