Thoughts and resources from the Center for Faculty Excellence

The commitment of Ithaca College to faculty development was really visible at last week’s annual POD conference……six of us were there! As a long-term active POD member, I was thrilled to introduce Jan Monroe, Dennis Charsky, Ali Erkan, and Michael Smith (and share with former POD member Carol Henderson) to this conference. They will say more: for me, the transition to my retirement role was lovely. I continued my scholarly engagement with 2 sessions, connected with numerous colleagues and collaborators, progressed in my future role as a consultant, and generally enjoyed the interactive environment. POD stands for the Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education, and that is evident in the combined perspective of supporting individual faculty and demonstrating good teaching, as well as acting at an institutional level. Plus lots of networking.  More soon from my wonderful colleagues; I am so proud of everyone!
