For individuals with undergraduate degrees in nonteaching allied health fields who wish to pursue a nonteaching career in health education, an additional track is available in the health education program.

Program Basics

Both graduate programs in health promotion and physical education are geared toward a professional teaching certificate. Upon graduation, students are eligible for New York State initial teacher certification in health education or physical education.

In order to be considered for admission, all applications must include official transcripts, two letters of recommendation that evaluate the applicant’s academic abilities, and the application fee.

Important Dates

  • February 1
    All applicant materials should be complete and submitted for Fall admission. 
  • March 21
    All candidates filing by February 1 deadline will be notified of acceptance, rejection, or waiting list status. 
  • Late March/Early April
    Assistantship award letters will be sent out. 
  • April 15
    All candidates who wish to enter an academic year graduate program must accept admission and pay their deposit.
