Scholarships and Financial Aid

M.B.A. Merit Scholarships

M.B.A. Merit Scholarships are awarded after a thorough review of the information provided in the candidate's admissions application. All candidates who submit a completed admissions application to the M.B.A. or M.B.A. in Professional Accountancy program by March 1 will be given full consideration for an M.B.A. merit scholarship; no separate scholarship application is required. In most cases, recipients of merit scholarships will be notified of their awards by April 15.  

M.B.A. Endowed Scholarships

The following graduate scholarships were established by endowment gifts or bequests of alumni, family, faculty and friends of the School of Business. Endowed scholarships are awarded annually and in accordance with the intent of the donor.

• John D. Amsterdam '69 M.B.A. Endowed Scholarship
  Awarded to an outstanding student who has earned a bachelor's degree from the School of Business who is entering one of the business school's master's programs, who has exhibited active involvement and leadership in the School of Business, and demonstrates financial need.

• Elmer D. Robinson Scholarship
  Established in memory of honorary trustee Elmer D. Robinson by his family and friends. Awarded to an M.B.A. student with a grade point average of at least 3.0. Preference is given to a student from Tompkins County or a surrounding county. Financial need is not required.

• Robert A. Ullrich M.B.A. Scholarship
  Established to honor the service and dedication of Robert Ullrich, who served as dean of the School of Business from 1998-2004. Awarded to a graduate of the School of Business who is entering one of the business school's master's programs with the highest undergraduate grade point average and who has demonstrated active involvement and leadership in the School of Business.

To be considered for the endowed scholarships listed above, a separate application for each scholarship must be submitted by March 1. Please note that the application deadline for AY13-14 endowed graduate scholarships has now passed. Information for AY14-15 scholarships will be posted after January 2014.

Candidates are responsible for checking their financial aid eligibility and making sure they meet all scholarship criteria before applying. To be considered for all types of aid, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed each year. The priority deadline for filing the FAFSA is March 1, and   there are some additional requirements for new students, graduate students and New York State residents. NOTE:  The MBA program does not currently offer graduate assistantships.
