|Professional Excellence Award in Health Sciences - Nutrition Emphasis|
I came to Ithaca College from my hometown of Ardsley, New York, with an interest in healthcare. I was unsure of the career within healthcare I wanted to pursue, but had always been interested in healthy eating and living a healthy life. Because of this, I decided to become a Health Science major with a Nutrition Concentration. With a diverse course load, this program has helped me pinpoint the path I want to take. After Ithaca College I hope to become a Hospital Administrator, and pursue my Master’s in Healthcare Administration.
There are two experiences that I consider the highlights of my career at Ithaca College. The first involved my internship with the Ithaca Regional Office of the Guthrie Clinic, where I learned specifics about healthcare management. At Guthrie, I worked with the Practice Administration department and attended executive meetings at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania. The second highlight of my college career was being a member of the Ithaca College football team. During my senior year, the team won the Empire 8 championship and finished 16th in the country. The time I spent with my teammates and coaches has shaped qualities I possess today.
