The following scholarships are available for students majoring in Health and Physical Education.
Philip James Butterfield Scholarship
Awarded to juniors or seniors in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance who exhibit outstanding performance and citizenship. Preference is given to students who plan to pursue teaching careers. Established in honor of longtime professor and head football coach Jim Butterfield.

Jami Erlich "Sunshine" '99 Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to an outstanding junior or senior majoring in physical education or health education and physical education who has shown a commitment to community service and who has demonstrated financial need. Preference is given to female candidates. Established in 2010 in memory of Jami Erlich, her parents' beloved "Sunshine."

Awarded to an outstanding sophomore, junior, or senior majoring in physical education (teaching) or health education and physical education (teaching) who has demonstrated financial need.

Awarded to sophomores, juniors, or seniors in the Departments of Exercise and Sport Sciences, Health Promotion and Physical Education, and Recreation and Leisure Studies who show outstanding academic performance and expertise in the basic sciences.

Awarded to students in the Departments of Exercise and Sport Sciences, Health Promotion and Physical Education, Sport Management and Media, and Recreation and Leisure Studies who plan to pursue careers in teaching. Established by gifts of alumni and the family and friends of Coach Dick Lyon and his wife, Helen.

Awarded to an outstanding student majoring in physical education who has demonstrated financial need. Established by his daughter Fredi, a retired physical education teacher, in loving memory of her father, Jack W. Novin, who was a very concerned, active, and proud alumnus.
