"Jerusalem and the Politics of Myth" - public talk by Gershom GorenbergContributed by Rebecca Lesses on 03/02/2010 On March 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Emerson C, Israeli journalist Gershom Gorenberg will be speaking on "Jerusalem and the Politics of Myth." His talk is free and open to the public. Gorenberg's talk will address the real and mythical meanings of Jerusalem in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Gorenberg is the author of the books “The Accidental Empire: Israel and the Birth of the Settlements, 1967–1977” and “The End of Days: Fundamentalism and the Struggle for the Temple Mount,” and coauthored “Shalom, Friend,” a biography of the assassinated Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Rabin Gorenberg’s talk is sponsored by the Ithaca College Jewish studies program.
