Ithaca College faculty and staff are invited to register NOW for the first in the Ithaca College Gerontology Workshop series: "Aging in Place: The Role of Universal Design," to be held Wednesday, April 4, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in the Longview auditorium, 1 Bella Vista Drive, Ithaca. IC faculty and students may attend at no charge, but advance registration is required and can be done online here.

Esther Greenhouse, an environmental gerontologist specializing in the impact of the built environment on the level of functioning and well-being of seniors, will highlight the elements of universal design, an approach that can enable persons of all ages to live at the highest level of independence possible.

The other workshops in the series will focus on playgrounds for elders (April 11) and financial concerns for older consumers (April 18).
