Unfortunately, Juan González has had to cancel his visit because he is suffering from back problems and his doctors have told him not to travel. He also had to miss the premieres this week of the film based on his earlier book, Harvest of Empire. We'll stay in close touch with him and reschedule when he has healed, most likely early next semester.

Meanwhile, we wish Mr. González a speedy recovery, and we're glad to note that the screenings of the film are being met with large audiences and much applause.

Author, journalist, and Democracy Now! cohost Juan González will visit Ithaca College on Wednesday, October 3, as the guest of the Park Center for Independent Media (PCIM). He will deliver a free public lecture at 7:30 p.m. in Emerson Suites on “The Epic Story of Race and U.S. Media.&

Note that Mr. Gonzalez has had to cancel this engagement because of severe back problems. We'll reschedule when he is better, most likely early next semester. We wish Juan Gonzalez a speedy recovery.
