... we are so, so, SO close to making our goal for the Ithaca College United Way campaign for this year. As of today (Friday, December 14), we stand at $60,726 raised - a little over 93% of our goal of $65,000. 261 members of our campus community have stepped forward to support the campaign - 23% of them first-time givers! - but this means that still only a little over 15% of our campus community has so far taken action. Let's finish out the Fall semester and head into the winter break with the satisfaction of knowing we have met our campaign goal for this year. We can easily hit that mark if everyone out there who hasn't yet made a donation - and a gift of ANY amount is truly welcomed! - decides to take that step toward making a positive contribution to our local community.
Do you have one of those people in your family who is impossible to buy for? Instead of giving them another cheesy holiday tie or bottle of perfume that they really don't need or want, think instead about giving a contribution in their name to the United Way, targeting your gift to an area of need or specifying a particular community organization or program for which you know that person has a soft spot.
If you want to take advantage of the super-easy option of payroll deduction, we really need to hear from you before December 20th, as Payroll needs time to get your option entered into the College system so it takes effect with the first payroll cycle of the new calendar year. So please, don't delay!
Cash, checks and credit card donations are also welcomed. Fruitcakes are not quite so happily accepted. ;-)
