The mission of the Ithaca College Equestrian Team is to promote teamwork and unity among riders, to advance individuals' riding skills, excel at horse shows, and show support to fellow team members as well as other teams.
The Ithaca College Equestrian team accepts all levels of riders and anyone who has some riding experience is encouraged to try out. We ride once or twice a week at If Only Farm which is about 15 minutes from the IC and we car pool in order to get there. Each member of the team pays dues per semester which includes lessons, IHSA/USEF/USHJA fees, show fees, coach’s fees and membership fees. ICET fundraises the majority of the money the team uses and the rest is from dues. The price varies every year depending on how much money the team is allotted by the college, number of horse shows and the number of lessons per week. The exact amount of dues isn't determined until the beginning of the semester. Team members usually bring their own riding/show clothes, but we have a team closet for any gear a team member might be missing.
