RESIDENTIAL LIFE GUIDE
special housing areas

  • First Year Residence Hall Program: is specifically designed to address first-year student issues and is geared toward first year students' needs. The program exclusively houses first year students in Boothroyd, Rowland and Tallcott Halls. The Resident Assistants in this dynamic community are highly involved with residents expected to be actively involved in the program. Selection is based upon an essay application with applications for incoming students available through HomerConnect.
  • Housing Offering a Multicultural Experience (H.O.M.E.) Program: An excellent living option for international and domestic students interested in multicultural issues, preparing to study abroad, or for first-time U.S. residents. Terrace 03 (H.O.M.E.) residents are required to enroll and participate in 1 of 5 designated multicultural-themed classes during their first semester, and participate in 6 multicultural events and a Community Forum in subsequent semesters. First year H.O.M.E. participants will be registered for the required course prior to Orientation. Applications are available through HomerConnect.
  • Sustainably Conscious Living Community: Designed for students committed to improving their relationship with the environment, society, and economy. Participants will be expected to participate in community meetings, group dinners, and education opportunities throughout the year. The Sustainably Conscious Living Program is housed in Terrace 02 with applications available through HomerConnect.
  • Outdoor Adventure Learning Community: Whether you are new to Outdoor Adventure, or an expert. Participants will gain survival skills, leadership skills, and learn more about the environmental issues of outdoor adventure including the Leave no Trace theory. Housed on the second floor of Terrace 08, applications are available through HomerConnect.
  • Stockwerk Deutch and Quartier Français : These two language and culture communities are designed to provide residents with the opportunity for regular practice, whether new to German or French, or a native speaker. Additionally, each offers learning opportunites relating to the language, cultural and political issues of German and French-speaking countries. These language communities are housed on the first floor of Terrace 11 with applications available on HomerConnect.
  • Terrace 5: Designated for students interested in longer quiet hours than our other residence halls.
  • Substance Free Housing: Hood Hall is designated for students committed to living a substance-free lifestyle. Click here to view the Substance Free Housing Agreement.
  • Honors Housing: Designated for students in the Humanities and Sciences Honors program. The Honors floor (Lyon Ground & 1st Floors) is intended to provide for an out-of-class honors community to share academic experiences, other aspects of life at Ithaca College. A computer lab on the floor is exclusively for use by students in the program. Applications are available through HomerConnect.
  • All-Female Residence Hall: Terrace 01 offers single, double, and triple rooms, and suites.
  • Coed-By-Door: Available in Terraces 03-04, 07-08, and 11, and Emerson Hall, adjacent rooms can be of either gender.
  • Greek-letter Organizations: Housed on some floors of Terraces 4, 8, 9, and 12.
