The possession and/or use of gas grills is prohibited in all residence halls and apartments. Apartment residents only may possess and use a charcoal grill under the following conditions:
- Grills must be portable with legs no longer than 12 inches and a cooking surface no larger than 250 square inches.
- Grills are not to be used on patios or balconies.
- Grills may only be used at a distance 30 feet or more from any building.
- The use and possession of lighter fluid is prohibited.
- Only EZ-light type charcoal is permitted with a maximum of one bag allow to be stored by residents.
- Charcoal must always be kept dry to prevent spontaneous combustion, and should only be stored indoors or in a dry, enclosed area.
- All coals and embers must be thoroughly extinguished prior to their disposal.
- Grills must be free of charcoal, coals, and ashes whenever stored and should only be stored on balconies or patios.

To minimize risk to residents, and to prevent damage to or loss of College property, any grill, grilling fuel, or other grilling accessory found to be in violation of the above conditions will be immediately confiscated and removed from the residence halls. Students in violation these grilling guidelines are subject to fine and judicial action.
