RESIDENTIAL LIFE GUIDE
room assignments

Ithaca College's residence halls offer several distinct living areas that are popular with new and continuing residents. All Ithaca College students are expected to reside on campus unless they apply for and receive off-campus approval as described in the Residency Policy.

Current & Incoming students have the ability to self select¹ their housing assignment using HomerConnect². Learning Communities and First Year Program will require a separate application. Circle and Garden Apartments, and Terrace Suites will require a separate application for Fall housing selection for returning students (held each Spring). Each student must complete a housing profile on HomerConnect prior to their selection date. Selection timelines are published in the Residential Life Calendar.

¹ If a space is not available for a student to select, the Office of Residential Life will assign that student to a permanent assignment based upon the student's profile after the process closes or to Temporary Housing. The Office of Residential Life will attempt to reassign as many students as possible from Temporary Housing to permanent assignments prior to Fall opening.

² HomerConnect is an online, self-service application for Ithaca College students to view class schedules, register for courses, verify financial aid and bursar information, and select housing.

Ithaca College only allows selection for roommates of the same biological sex. If you identify yourself as a transgendered student and would like to request housing not typically considered during the selection process, please refer to the transgender section of the special housing request process.

SPECIAL NOTICE: The Office of Residential Life reserves the right to suspend these processes as demand for campus housing dictates.

All room changes and sublets made without prior approval of the Office of Residential Life are subject to judicial action. Similarly, moving into a vacancy without permission from the Office of Residential Life can result in disciplinary action. It is vitally important for your safety and well-being that Ithaca College's records accurately reflect where you reside on campus.

Students who move (or are directly reassigned) from a traditional room to a Circle Apartment, Garden Apartment, or Quad Apartment will need to contact the Bursar's office if they intend to continue their current meal plan. Students who move (or are directly reassigned) from a Circle Apartment, Garden Apartment, or Quad Apartment to a traditional room are automatically assigned to a standard meal plan which will be billed to their student account.
