RESIDENTIAL LIFE GUIDE
special accommodation

If a student has a special medical, psychological or learning need, the Office of Residential Life will make every effor to provide the most appropriate on-campus housing assignment for you. Barrier-free rooms are available on campus for students with impaired mobility. Some rooms are equipped with visual fire alarms to serve the hearing impaired. Students requiring special accommodation should contact the Office of Residential Life as early as possible.

Please complete and submit a Special Housing Accommodation Request form as soon as is possible. The special request will need to be accompanied by the appropriate supporting documentation. Special Housing Accommodation requests are reviewed by Residential Life in consultation with health services, counseling center, academic support services, or other appropriate college offices. The goal of this review is to provide an on-campus housing accommodation that best meets the need of the student. Campus housing options may be limited based on space availability.

If you identify as a transgendered student, and require a special housing accommodation, please complete and submit a Transgender Housing Request form to the Office of Residential Life. This request will be reviewed in consultation with the Coordinator of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Resource Center. Each request will be reviewed individually and with a commitment to providing a housing accommodation that best meets the need of the transgendered student. Housing options may be limited during the semester due to space availability.

SPECIAL NOTICE: The Office of Residential Life reserves the right to suspend these processes as demand for campus housing dictates.
