RESIDENTIAL LIFE GUIDE
temporary housing

Because of the high demand for on-campus housing, it may be necessary for the Office of Residential Life to assign some students to temporary living accommodations in lounges. Every effort is made to assign students who are assigned to temporary housing accommodations as quickly as possible.

Lounges are comfortable places to live. They are fully secured, private, and offer lots of space. Lounges are equipped with one phone jack, one data port per resident for Internet access and are furnished like all other residence hall rooms. Reassignment from lounges begins as soon as vacancies are officially confirmed following check-in each semester. Students in these accommodations will be assigned to vacancies in doubles or standard triples through a priority system.

SPECIAL NOTICE: The Office of Residential Life reserves the right to suspend these processes as demand for campus housing dictates.

All room changes and sublets made without prior approval of the Office of Residential Life are subject to judicial action. Similarly, moving into a vacancy without permission from the Office of Residential Life can result in disciplinary action. It is vitally important for your safety and well-being that Ithaca College's records accurately reflect where you reside on campus.

Students who move (or are directly reassigned) from a traditional room to a Circle Apartment, Garden Apartment, or Quad Apartment will need to contact the Bursar's office if they intend to continue their current meal plan. Students who move (or are directly reassigned) from a Circle Apartment, Garden Apartment, or Quad Apartment to a traditional room are automatically assigned to a standard meal plan which will be billed to their student account.
