Mission

The mission of the Ithaca College Gerontology Institute is to:

•        Provide students unparalleled opportunities in multi/interdisciplinary coursework, research, and experiential
        learning

•        Facilitate and support the involvement of students, faculty, and staff in innovative research and practice
        projects that further their academic and professional goals and improve their ability to positively impact the
        lives of older people

•        Develop unique intergenerational programs that involve students, faculty, and staff in community
        partnerships with persons of all ages

•        Provide education and training to faculty, practitioners, and consumers, with particular emphasis on the
        circumstances of elders living in rural New York

Vision

The Ithaca College Gerontology Institute will be a leader in gerontological education by providing exemplary programs to students and professionals that improve their ability to positively impact the lives of older people.
