Jobs, Internships, and Opportunities
Internships are Key
A way to work, learn, and give back to the community. A way to increase your work experience. And a way to explore your options for a career or studies after graduation from Ithaca College. Internships and work experience are considered to be a vital part of the Department of Environmental Studies and Science that all students are encouraged to fit into their academic schedule either during a semester or over a summer term.
Check these out and make sure to go to ENVS's Commit-to-Change page to learn about internship and research funds available through the program's HSBC grant.

Want to look at a convenient collection of national job listings? ENVS has just purchased a subscription to EnvironmentalCareer.com's "Green Job Seeker" newsletter. It's a fabulous resource for internships, research opps, job postings (from entry level to senior exec), career support, ideas for where your future might lie. A hard copy newspaper will arrive every other month and go to the Student Resource Room (Will 207), and you can access an on-line version at any time to look for inspiration and direction. If you'd like to view the online version and do not have the password, contact Carol Hansen.
Announcement:
2011 Emerson Internship Award
Rising seniors will be selected based on their “demonstrated meritorious academic performance, the quality and academic/career relevance of the internship, and the financial need of the applicant.” This year, H&S will be nominating two students for this scholarship.
Students who would like to be considered for this nomination should submit the following materials directly to hsadmin@ithaca.edu as an attachment to an email:
•a letter of support from the faculty sponsor of the internship
•a one to two page description of the proposed internship that includes:
-student’s full name and permanent address
-student's major(s) (and minor(s) if any), and overall GPA
-site and dates of the internship (estimate will suffice)
-number of credits (students must register for at least one credit)
-a discussion of how the internship is integrated with the student’s educational program.
The internal, H&S deadline for applications is 4pm on Monday, March 21 (immediately following spring break). If you are not sure whether a student is eligible for financial aid, please contact the Dean's office, as we have access to a recent Ithaca College Financial Aid Evaluation Report that lists eligibility.
