Mathematics major Laura Mansfield '08 presented her work on chaotic dynamical systems at the tenth annual Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Women in Mathematics, held February 8-10 and hosted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Laura presented a paper entitled, "The Dynamics of Newton's Method Applied to Quartic Polynomials." This work resulted from research in fall 2007; travel to the conference was partially funded by the H&S Educational Grant Initiative.
