Awards

Each year, the department honors those students who have distinguished themselves in mathematics.

Fall Awards

• Newton Award in Mathematics - given to students with a GPA of 3.7 or higher in introductory courses that apply to the mathematics degree.  At least two such courses must have been completed.
• Ramanujan Award in Mathematics - given to students with a GPA of 3.7 or higher in mathematics courses at level 2 or higher, with at least two of these courses completed.  In addition, the student must be currently enrolled in at least one level 2 or higher mathematics course.
• Noether Award in Mathematics - is given to students with a GPA of 3.7 or higher in mathematics courses at level 3 or higher, with at least two of these courses completed.  In addition, the student must be currently enrolled in at least one level 3 or higher mathematics course.

Senior Awards

• The Senior Award is given to graduating seniors who, in addition to outstanding achievement in coursework, have significant accomplishments in mathematics, such as conference presentations, publications, and/or Honors. This award is presented in the Spring
