Sociology Major Directing and Producing A Play
Ashley Morris, one of our sociology majors, is also directing and producing Poetic Injustice, a play that is comprised entirely of journals, stories, and poetry from prisoners around the country. The prisoners talk about the reality of what really goes on in prison, their personal stories, their beliefs, their pasts, and their dreams for the future. Poetic Injustice hopes to help bridge the gap between the prisoners and the 'outside world.'
Performance dates are April 20th (7:00pm, IC Pub) and April 23rd (7:00pm, Anabel Taylor Hall, Cornell).
This event is free and open to the public. It will also feature a guest speaker who will talk about "Prisoner's Express," the organization that compiles these pieces and gives the prisoner's the ability to voice their issues to the public. Please come and support this event, and bring a friend.
