Stephen Sweet Organizes Panel/Meeting in the Netherlands
Dr. Stephen Sweet, associate professor in sociology, and his colleague Judi Casey (Boston College) organized a day-long panel meeting of academics, policy makers, and workplace practitioners. This meeting addresses the "Intended and Unintended Consequences of Work-Family Policy: Lessons Through International Comparison," and takes place at Utrecht University in the Netherlands on April 15, 2009. The international panel of experts Sweet and Casey recruited include representatives from Australia, Denmark, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, United Kingdom, and the United States. This meeting is funded through a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and will precede the International Community, Work, and Family conference, during which Sweet and Casey will offer a workshop on resources available through the Sloan Work and Family Research Network.
