Coursera is an education company that partners with the top universities and organizations in the world to offer courses online for anyone to take, for free. Their technology enables our partners to teach millions of students rather than hundreds.

“We envision a future where everyone has access to a world-class education that has so far been available to a select few. We aim to empower people with education that will improve their lives, the lives of their families, and the communities they live in."

They offer courses from their website and have many science and medical classes offered. At the end, you get a Statement of Completion for your resume or CV. You can even earn "official" statements from the university sponsoring the course, like Princeton, Yale, Duke, or John Hopkins, though for a price.

The Clinical Terminology for International and U.S. Students course just opened, one of many such classes. https://class.coursera.org/clinicalterminology-001/class/index
(particularly useful for students looking to shadow or volunteer!!!)
